Totem installed in Roda de Ter

The project to showcase the heritage linked to the Viscountcy of Cabrera continues to progress with the addition of new signposted heritage sites. This April, interpretive signage was installed at seven locations across the Maresme, Osona, and Vallès Oriental counties.

The newly signposted sites are the tower of the Malgrat de Mar castle; Palafolls Castle and the Church of Sant Genís in the same municipality; the L’Esquerda Museum and Archaeological Site in Roda de Ter; Montclús Castle in Sant Esteve de Palautordera; and the tower of the former palace/castle in Santa Maria de Palautordera.

This initiative enhances the historical and cultural interpretation of these sites, giving visitors a better understanding of the role they played within the Viscountcy of Cabrera—one of the most important feudal domains in medieval Catalonia.

With these new additions, the project now features 50 signposted heritage sites, organized into five discovery routes. The goal is to promote knowledge and awareness of this heritage while fostering sustainable cultural tourism in the region.

The Viscountcy of Cabrera project is thus consolidating its position as a key initiative for preserving and showcasing the historical richness of these counties, while strengthening their identity and cultural appeal.
