Talk on the Viscountcy of Cabrera
Over the course of ten days—as part of the Sant Antoni Fair and the Viscountcy of Cabrera project—a coordinated program of activities was organized with the Anglès Town Council. These events allowed local residents to step back in time to the era of the Viscountcy of Cabrera in Anglès, while learning about its historical and cultural legacy.
Throughout the event period, visitors could view the Viscountcy of Cabrera project exhibition at the Arcada de Can Verdaguer exhibition hall. For this occasion, the exhibition was expanded to include new educational materials highlighting various links between Anglès and the Viscountcy of Cabrera. On Friday, January 19, a talk on the Viscountcy of Cabrera was held, led by historian and archaeologist Joan Llinàs and Àngel Vàzquez, a specialist from the La Selva County Council. The following day, two guided tours of Anglès’ historic center—site of a former castle belonging to the Viscountcy of Cabrera—were organized, alongside a historical reenactment featuring the figure of Bernat II.
Finally, on Sunday, January 28, a community walk to the Pere Sestronques hermitage was organized, offering participants the chance to visit the interior of the chapel. This program of activities was jointly organized by the Anglès Town Council and the La Selva County Council as part of the Viscountcy of Cabrera project, with the aim of raising awareness of the Viscountcy’s historical and cultural heritage and its connection to the municipality.
