As part of the “Vescomtat de Cabrera” (Viscounty of Cabrera) tourism-culture product project, the La Selva County Council has produced five videos to showcase the various heritage routes running through the participating municipalities and to highlight the 38 sites linked to the Cabrera family’s architectural heritage.
The Viscounty routes consist of five self-guided itineraries that allow visitors to explore the Viscounty of Cabrera—one of the most influential feudal lordships of the era, with vast and powerful domains extending from the La Selva region into the Vallès, Maresme, Osona, and Garrotxa areas.
These videos illustrate how this powerful territory was structured during the Middle Ages and showcase its outstanding, world-class architectural heritage (castles, hermitages, walls, monasteries, fortified towns, etc.), complemented by fascinating intangible heritage (legends, festivals, traditional techniques, etc.).
The Viscounty routes are organized around five thematic axes: military, religious, administrative, commercial, and discovery. Through these five routes, visitors can explore the 38 heritage sites—connected by a shared narrative—featuring information panels and explanatory totems, interpretation centers, and audiovisual recreations located at specific sites to help round out the historical context. Additionally, each route features two historical figures who accompany visitors on their journey of discovery. These nine five videos produced are accessible through QR codes installed on the start boards of each route. You can also see them in the following links:
