Sant Feliu de Buixalleu is one of the largest municipalities in La Selva region. It extends on the left bank of the Tordera and includes the middle and lower valley of the Arbúcies stream.
The territory is mountainous, especially in the northern sector, located in the foothills of the Montseny and Guilleries massifs, where forests of holm oaks, cork oaks, stone pines and chestnut trees are all around. An important monument found in the municipality is the castle of Montsoriu, with a history of 1000 years, on the border with Arbúcies, one of the best examples of military architecture from the Gothic period in Catalonia.
