The Vescomtat de Cabrera was a feudal jurisdiction of the Principality of Catalonia, ruled by the Cabrera lineage, which extended through the Ter, Tordera and Fluvià basins.
The Viscounty has left a rich patrimonial legacy spread throughout the territory with castles, strongholds, old quarters, monasteries, places of worship …, and a large number of stories, intrigues and betrayals linked to one of the lineages with more renown of the Catalan nobility and a key figure, who was Bernat II de Cabrera.
The FEDER operation “Tourist-cultural product Viscounty of Cabrera” is aimed at structuring a cultural and tourist proposal around the patrimonial legacy and the historical story of the viscounty of Cabrera
Purpose of the Project:
To highlight the tangible and intangible heritage of the Viscounty of Cabrera, generating a powerful joint proposal to attract new cultural and tourist audiences to the participating municipalities, through the promotion of cultural and economic activity around the resources linked to the Viscounty

This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union in the framework of the ERDF Operational Program of Catalonia 2014-2020
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) aims to strengthen socio-economic cohesion within the European Union by correcting imbalances between its regions.
The ERDF pays special attention to the specific characteristics of each region. The ERDF action is designed to reduce socio-economic and environmental problems in urban areas and has a particular focus on sustainable urban development. At least 5% of the ERDF resources are reserved for this purpose, through the “integrated actions” managed by the cities
Geographically disadvantaged areas due to natural causes (remote, mountainous or sparsely populated areas) benefit from special treatment. Finally, the outermost areas also benefit from specific support from the ERDF to solve possible inconveniences due to their remoteness.
